Schoeller Arca Systems, the world’s largest manufacturer of
returnable transit packaging, has won a contract to supply thousands of
Vauxhall vans for BT with its new Euro plastic containers. This is the
largest project to date for the company’s distributor Bott Ltd, who
secured the contract with Vauxhall.
The vehicles will be
fitted, as standard with 7 Euro containers – four 600x400x230, one
600x400x145, and two 400x300x230. The containers will be used by BT
service engineers to store their tools and equipment on board the
Vauxhall Vivaro’s, whilst they are servicing personal and business
phone lines.
Produced from virgin polypropylene using by
an injection moulding process, Euro containers have excellent strength
and durability. Individual lids are available to protect the contents
of the containers from damage and tampering, and the Euro boxes are
recyclable at the end of their useful life.
Ben Buckton,
Purchasing Manager for Bott, which specialise in in-vehicle storage
equipment, commented, “We felt that the Euro containers, with their
strength and ergonomically designed hand-grips for ease of handling,
were ideal as the storage containers for use inside the BT vans. As
well as the boxes, which have saved both time and resources, we were
very impressed with Schoeller Arca Systems’ service – it was excellent
from the start, especially the ongoing support.”
