Schoeller
Arca Systems (SA Systems), the world's largest manufacturer of
returnable transit packaging, has bought Basic Industrial Plastic
Pallets (BIPP). BIPP pallets are a viable alternative to wood, and are
now available to buy through SA Systems throughout Europe.
Plastic
pallets have been used in Europe for 25 years, and make up 8% of the
European pallet market. BIPP's extensive range of over 100 products,
includes one-way export pallets, industrial pallets and heavy-duty
hygienic pallets. Popular within the food and beverage, pharmaceutical
and export industries, they comply with all EU standards.
The
pallets are exceptionally durable and clean, providing considerable
cost savings. They are up to 40% lighter than wooden alternatives, and
their weight remains constant because they do not absorb moisture.
Weather resistant and easy to stack, plastic pallets are safe to
handle, with no nails or splinters.
Plastic pallets are
often the most economical solution when exporting, as they do not need
the treatment and certification required by many of the world's largest
markets when dealing with wooden alternatives.
Tim Ansell,
Managing Director of Schoeller Arca Systems in the UK, commented, "The
technology and cost of plastic pallets means they have a significantly
lower full life cost than their wooden counterparts. I am extremely
pleased that the most complete range of plastic pallets is now
available through us, making us the largest plastic pallet producer in
the world."
